Astrocartography where to live: compare your options

To ask astrocartography where to live, start with your birth details and the life you want to build. Find candidate cities, then compare their support, cautions and planetary evidence for a goal such as Home or Relocation. If you are moving with someone, examine what each place offers both of you. Your result can explain why a city deserves consideration and which trade-offs need attention before a move.

Start with your own map

Start with your birth date, birth time and birthplace. Your personal map is the starting point for finding candidates, comparing known places and exploring a shared choice.

01 / Find your starting points

Find cities that support the life you want

If you do not have a destination in mind, Find My Best Places uses your calculated map, chosen goal and search region to identify candidate cities. Each candidate shows a support level, a fit assessment and its main planetary signal; the preview also flags cautions when they are above Low. You can see why a place appears in your results and whether its support is strong, moderate, light or weak.

Choose Home when you want to explore belonging and private life, or Relocation when you want the broader relocation assessment. Career and relationship goals answer different questions again. This gives your search a personal direction: a city enters your shortlist because of the evidence for your selected goal. For the IC signals behind a Home assessment, see home line astrology.

A Home shortlist from one calculated map

Calculated example · Synthetic birth details · Extract from the full candidate result

The examples below use 15 June 1990, 08:15 local time in New York (America/New_York). With Home selected and the search set to Worldwide, these are the first three candidates in this calculation. They illustrate the output; your birth details determine your own results.

Home candidate shortlist
CandidateEvidence for HomeHome supportHome caution
Bangalore, IndiaMoon–IC, about 61.5 km awayModerateLow
Delhi, IndiaMoon–IC, about 90.7 km awayModerateLow
Yokohama, JapanVenus–IC, about 3.1 km awayModerateLow

For Bangalore and Delhi, the Moon–IC interpretation connects the signal with belonging, family and emotional grounding. For Yokohama, Venus–IC points toward comfort, harmony and enjoyment of home life. These readings give the example person different reasons to investigate each place: building familiar daily connections in one case, and a satisfying private environment in the other.

Yokohama is much closer to its listed line, yet all three receive Moderate Home support. Distance helps explain a signal's strength; the assessment also depends on which planet and angle support the selected goal. A close line alone does not settle which city deserves your attention.

The free Find My Best Places preview shows one candidate; this example shows three entries from the full result. Worldwide searches the cities available in the product's candidate pool. Keep the places you could realistically consider, then compare them more closely.

02 / Understand the trade-offs

Compare the benefits and pressures of each place

Compare Cities lets you choose two to four cities and evaluate them for the same goal. It returns a ranking, support and caution levels, and the planetary evidence behind the assessment. The comparison also shows how each city reads across different goals, helping you identify where a benefit in one area accompanies pressure in another.

You can include your current city alongside possible new homes. This makes the question specific: what appears more supportive elsewhere, and which concerns would you need to investigate before choosing it?

The same three cities, two different questions

Calculated example · Standard Compare Cities results · Same synthetic birth details

We selected Bangalore, Delhi and Yokohama in Compare Cities, first for Home and then for Relocation. The table summarizes their support levels. All three have Low caution within these two selected goals; the individual life themes can still carry different cautions.

Home and Relocation comparison
CandidateHome supportRelocation supportWhat to consider
BangaloreModerateLightIts Home assessment matches Delhi's support and caution scores.
DelhiModerateLightIt leads this Relocation comparison, with Light support.
YokohamaModerateWeakIts Home support sits alongside a Moderate Career caution.

Asking astrocartography where to live involves more than finding the first-ranked city. Bangalore and Delhi have equal Home support and caution scores. Their first and second positions do not establish a meaningful advantage for settling down. In the Relocation comparison, Delhi moves ahead, but the support remains Light. The ranking helps order the options while the support level tells you how much evidence stands behind that order.

What Yokohama's trade-off means for this person

Yokohama's Venus–IC signal supports the Home reading. Its Relocation result also includes Pluto–MC, about 52.4 km away, among the cautions. That interpretation concerns intensity, pressure and power dynamics in public or working life. Across the comparison's life themes, Career caution is Moderate.

For this person, investigating Yokohama means considering the appeal of home life alongside questions about work. Would their likely work environment leave room for the private life they hope to build? What would they need to understand about responsibilities and workplace expectations before moving? The calculation supplies the themes; conversations, research and a visit can help explore how those questions relate to an actual move.

Your own comparison can reveal a different pattern. Use the goal closest to your reason for moving, then examine the other life themes that matter to you. You gain a reason to keep, question or set aside a candidate, with the supporting evidence available to review.

03 / Make room for both people

Does the same place work for both of you?

When two people are moving together, one person's city reading answers only part of the question. Find the Best Places for Two People uses both sets of birth details and a shared goal to examine a place for each person. You can check one city, compare several known options, or discover candidates together.

The full result separates each person's support and cautions, identifies shared themes, and shows who faces greater pressure for the selected goal. Where the evidence supports a shared choice, it can identify candidates worth prioritizing together. It can also show that there is not enough support for a joint recommendation.

Yokohama: different benefits, an unconfirmed shared Home choice

Calculated example · Extract from full results for two people · Goal: Home

Person A uses the birth details above. Person B uses a second synthetic profile: 15 June 1992, 08:30 local time in London (Europe/London). The result for the same Yokohama location shows:

Individual readings for the shared Home goal
ReadingPerson APerson B
Support identifiedHomeCareer
Caution identifiedCareerNo prominent caution in the assessed themes
Evidence for the shared Home goalHome support is presentNo clear Home support is identified

Shared Home conclusion: insufficient support for a joint recommendation. This result gives Yokohama no shared recommendation rank.

The city offers different themes to the two people. Person A's reading highlights a home-life benefit and a work-related concern, while Person B's main support concerns career. The joint analysis adds something neither individual headline explains: there is no clear shared Home support in this result.

That distinction creates a useful discussion. Is the move primarily about building a home together, or is one person's career the main reason? What would Person A need to investigate about work, and what would Person B need to feel settled? If shared Home support is essential to their search, they can examine other cities before committing to this candidate.

An insufficient recommendation means the calculation has not established enough support for this shared goal. It does not determine whether the relationship or a real-life move will succeed. Both people still have a say in which benefits matter and which practical conditions would make a place workable.

04 / Bring it into daily life

Turn the reading into places you can investigate

For each city you keep, connect one personal aim with the support and caution shown in your result. Then identify a question to investigate outside the map. When moving together, include a question that matters to each person.

Housing, employment, residency requirements, costs and existing relationships can change which candidates are realistic. These conditions are not calculated in the city ranking. A trial stay may help you explore routines and local connections; a Travel result addresses a different goal from Home, so compare your options again for the life you intend to build.

If you want a wider reading of life themes and the evidence behind them, a Personal Astrocartography Report offers further analysis of its own selected places. If you have a destination and want to explore timing, Best Time to Move examines a chosen city and goal over the next 12 months. Each has its own input and access requirements; neither is necessary to begin a standard city comparison.

Keep your choices in context

Questions about choosing where to live

Can astrocartography tell me exactly where I should live?

It can help you explore candidate places and understand the themes in your personal location readings. Treat the result as an interpretive aid alongside practical research. It cannot guarantee belonging, career success or what will happen after a move.

What if I do not have any candidate cities?

Find My Best Places gives you a starting point based on your map, goal and region. The free preview contains one candidate; the full result expands the list. Choose places that are realistic for you, then examine their support and cautions before narrowing your options.

Is the first-ranked city always the best choice?

Read the strength of support and the cautions alongside the position. Bangalore and Delhi have equal Home scores in this example despite appearing in different positions. A leading city can also have only Light or Weak support. Your priorities and practical circumstances still affect the choice.

Can I compare my current city with a possible new home?

Yes. Add your current city and one to three alternatives in Compare Cities, then select the same goal for all of them. You can examine the differences in support, cautions and planetary evidence before deciding which option deserves more research.

Can a city support me and a different goal for my partner?

Yes. The Yokohama example shows Home support for Person A and Career support for Person B. The two-person result distinguishes those individual benefits from support for a shared goal, helping you discuss whether the reasons for moving match both people's priorities.

Can we ask astrocartography where to live if a birth time is unknown?

You can explore an estimated map, but angle lines and location judgments depend on birth time. The two-person tool requires accurate times for a supported joint recommendation. Full personal reports and Best Time to Move also require exact times; an estimated map cannot establish the missing detail.
